Darren paints that first day and follows along with the scripted tips. He then heads out to pay all the bills that have been piling up.
Dirk wants private school, something they cannot afford right now. Dirk secretly gets a job in the military to help out.
Darren knows how badly Dirk wants to make money and go to college. He makes sure that homework is done every night.
Lilith comes by after a call from Dirk. She immediately knows her parents would find this clean cut kid acceptable and decides to make it an official relationship.
Dirk is not in disagreement and doesn’t even introduce her to Darren. Just shoos his dad upstairs.
Darren paints a portrait of Dirk and in the mirror, he is getting ready for a shower and bed.
Darren: Dammit, who put in that mirror? Remind me to move it someday.
Darren waits for Dirk to leave for school and invites Cass over. He has been missing her.
Darren: If you had just come to me, this could have been our baby.
Cass: Just stop, Darren. You know I don’t feel that way about you.
They spent the day together and then he tried to wow her with his non-existent culinary skills. All they had for a conversation were babies.
Darren: Had a lot of wants for Cass, but I wasn’t sure how receptive she would be, so we left that alone and he just did all the painting and skill building that he wanted.
Dirk: A carbon copy of Dustin. Private school, A+ report card, University, skilling.
The Pleasant family is next, but you have to be bright-eyed and bushy tailed to deal with them. In other words, I went to play them last night and said nope. So, that’s on today’s agenda.
